In reply to a written question from ABM Ashraf Uddin Nizam, the minister informed the parliament that BTRC has realised Tk 607.90 crore in revenue from mobile phone companies during the current fiscal year.
The minister also said, "The government has no partnership with private mobile companies."

Answering another query, the minister said, "The recently closed four PSTN telephone operators invested Tk 664 crore in total until Aug 8, 2008.
