The government is planning to introduce Economy International Subscribers’ Dialing (EISD) for phone calls with neighboring India and other SARRC countries, Post & Telecommunication Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju told Parliament Sunday.
Replying to a question of M Shah Alam, he said the steps will be taken in future after mutual discussions with the land and mobile phone companies of India and other member countries of SAARC for phone call with less cost.
Rajiuddin said at present EISD phone call facilities are available from Bangladesh with 55 countries of the world.
The land phone call charge for the 55 countries and mobile phone call charge for 23 out of 55 countries is Tk 6 per minute while the call charge of mobile phone with the remaining 22 countries is Tk 16.50 per minute.
