Speakers at a function here on Sunday stressed the need for building a digital Bangladesh as per vision 2021 declared by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to face the challenges of the 21st century, reports BSS.
They said the objective of building a digital Bangladesh is to create a knowledge based society and help people get information on issues like health, education, agriculture and communication within a very short time through using information technology.
They were speaking at a discussion titled “Digital Bangladesh to open the door of Prosperity” held at Jalma Union parishad ground at Chakrakhali under Batiaghata upazila in the district arranged by Khulna divisional information office.
Presided by Khulna deputy commissioner Jamsher Ahmed Khondokar, the meeting was addressed by Khulna City Corporation Mayor (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleq as the chief guest.

Quamruzzaman , Khulna district women affairs officer Fatema Nargis Zamin, Khulna press Club secretary S M Zahid Hossain, BTV Khulna correspondent Mokbul Hossain Mintu and chairman of Jalma Union parisad Sanjit Kumar Mondol and deputy director of Khulna divisional information office Zinat Ara Ahmed addressed the function.
The meeting was followed by a cultural function.
