LG has just unveiled a 4:3 touchscreen 3d smart mobile phone which doesn’t need special glasses to view 3d at Mobile World
Congress 2011. Not just viewing, the camera can take 3d photos & videos. This is the latest top product from LG and they are quite optimistic about its success. The 3D viewing and recording demands high power and to cope with the LG Optimus 3D has some new internal technologies such as the 1GHz dual-core processor, further enhanced with dual-channel and dual-memory architecture.
The method LG uses to eliminate the need of 3D glasses is called “switchable barrier,” which is similar to how Nintendo’s 3DS can do 3-D without requiring the player to wear glasses. The release date is yet not disclosed however a few models were on display which showed people its key features like 3d movies, 3d games etc. The photos taken via Optimus 3D can be viewed on large screen in home by hooking it to the television via wired HDMI connection. The screen can show normal videos upto 1080p and 3D videos upto 720p
The Android developers have plenty of opportunity to improve this mobile by bringing 3d texts or attractive popping keypads for the mobile. The mobile may not have any notable new features for users apart from the fact that it’s 3D. The price is expected to be similar to that of Optimus 2X (According to LG)
