Internet, mobile banking told to collect remittance

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Planning Ministry yesterday recommended the government to introduce internet and mobile banking system in the country to facilitate the expatriate Bangladeshi workers to send remittance to home.
In a meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, the committee also urged for taking steps to send workers abroad at low cost, and in view of this, collect visa of workers through the embassies, a Parliament Secretariat press release said.
Chairman of the committee Dr Oli Ahmed presided over the meeting while members Planning Minister Air Vice-marshal AK Khandakar, Azizul Haq Chowdhury, ANM Shamsul Islam were present, among others.
The parliamentary committee discussed the matter of present status of the disposal of the allegations submitted by aggrieved persons to the Bureau of Manpower.
