Banglalink sponsored ‘Loko Sangeet Utshov’ ends

A three day long 'Loko Sangeet Utshov-2010', held in Rangpur town hall, ended recently. The event, which took place from the 1st of July till the 3rd was sponsored by Banglalink. Sirajuddin, a prominent bhawaiya artiste, inaugurated the Bhawaiya Utshov 2010. Assifuzzaman Khan, regional sales manager of Banglalink Rangpur, B.M Enamul Haq, district commissioner of Rangpur were also present at the event, says a press release. The utshov featured a bhawaiya music competition among artists from all eight districts of Rangpur. The competition was organised by Sound Touch. Ahmed Abou Doma, the CEO of Banglalink, said that Banglalink has positioned itself in the hearts of the people of the country as a part and parcel of national culture and heritage. In that continuous endeavor, Banglalink sponsored this festival, integral to Bangladesh's unique culture and heritage. Hopefully, it will promote the endangered folk musical form of bhawaiya, and the competition will provide some much needed encouragement to its fine practitioners to refine their musical skills."
