banglalink reaches the 1.5 crore mark, further consolidates position in the industry


banglalink, the country’s 2nd largest mobile operator achieved the 1.5 crore mark, thereby consolidating its position and further widening the gap with the next contender. this milestone has been reached after only five years of operations, which represents an incredible achievement, and provides testimony to the company’s rapid expansion that has made banglalink the fastest growing mobile operator in the country. as a result the company grossed the highest net adds in 2009, more than any other operator in the country.
commenting on this milestone achievement, the ceo of banglalink mr. ahmed abou doma said "the fact that over one and a half crore customers have shown confidence in banglalink is a testament to the brand itself, which continues to be one of the most loved and visible brands in the country. in the years to come, we are confident that this growth will continue with this customer confidence in us". in a press conference held today, the ceo also announced a special celebratory offer for banglalink customers - giving them 15% free airtime and 15 sms on usage, between 15th to 17th may, 2010. on the same occasion, mr. abou doma also announced the launch of banglalink unlimited postpaid package. in this first of its kind package in the entire saarc region, customers can make calls to all networks without bothering about per minute rates.
