GP, CARE to initiate a rural sales programme | ||||
Grameenphone and CARE Bangladesh have agreed to initiate a Rural Sales Programme to get close to the rural communities. Grameenphone has strong benchmark distribution network across the country with special focus on reaching towards deep routes of the country. This initiative will make this network even stronger. CARE Bangladesh is one of the most reputed international organizations operating in Bangladesh. CARE seeks a world of hope, tolerance, & social justice, where poverty has been overcome, and people live in dignity and security while working with deep rural communities to develop their capacities in sales and health information, accounting, business negotiations and other business skills. With the partnership with CARE, Grameenphone will sell selective telecommunication products targeted towards rural though CARE's Rural Channels. This initiative will enable the Village customers to know more about Grameenphone's products and at the same time avail them at their door steps. In conjunction, this model will ensure additional income opportunities and development for the village members of CARE. Grameenphone Ltd. and CARE Bangladesh signed a MOU on this regard on 22nd May 2010. Arild Kaale, Chief Marketing officer of Grameenphone and Nick Southern, Country Director of CARE BD signed the MOU on behalf of their respective companies. Director Sales - Yasir Azman, Head of Distribution- Sajjad Hasib, Head of Distribution Infrastructure, Asraful Huda and Project Manager Sadek Ahmer were present on behalf of Grameenphone Ltd. From CARE Bangladesh, Program Director - Asif Uddin Ahmed and Program manager Saif Al Rashid were present in the ceremony. |
